The Churches of Christ in Christian Union

Our 2017 Advent Offering

Last year was our first experience of having an Advent Offering which replaced our February Sacrifice Offering. What a thrill it was to receive nearly $67,000! This offering helps in providing disaster relief when such events occur on our mission fields. It also assists in the operational costs. This past year funds from this account enabled us to send finances to Yemen for the Humanitarian Relief and just recently, to our churches in the Caribbean region due to the damage from the hurricane.

Our theme for the offering this year is The Way in a Manger. Truly, He is the way and the truth and the life… John 14:6. Let’s not hold back in sharing The Way with friends, neighbors and those around the world. You may not feel called to another country to share The Way, but we can all lighten the load of those who have responded to the call God has given them. Let’s work at making this offering the best yet! The goal this year is to raise $75,000.

Your gift will make a difference today!

CE Announces The Great Bible Adventure

The Christian Education (CE) Department of The Churches of Christ in Christian Union would like to invite you and your students to the Great Bible Adventure to be held on May 11, 2013 at Ohio Christian University Leadership Center from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.  This will be a time of worship, celebration, presentations, games, and food for students between the ages of 5 and 14 years.

The purpose of this event is to celebrate Level I Bible Literacy.  We are asking you to work with your students and help them learn 10 items from the Bible Literacy booklet which is on the Christian Education webpage.  You can download the booklet and give it to your Sunday School teachers and students.  At this celebration we will present certificates to the students who have accomplished this task.  Bring all students whether they have memorized the verses or not so they can also be part of the Celebration.  We are anticipating 500 students and want your church and students to be represented.

At the celebration will be a Biblical presentation with worship songs, skits, and students presenting Bible verses memorized.  Also, we will have games, one of which is the Great Bible Challenge.  We are asking you to have three students from your church study the first part of the Bible Literacy booklet (preschool to 3rd grade) and be involved in this Bible Challenge.  There will be awards given to the top three churches.  This is a way for students to learn the Bible in a fun and exciting way.  There will be other games along with inflatables.
